How do I trust something is real before the world has confirmed it's real?

I built this before I had proof it would work.

That's the part I don't usually say out loud. Not the launch, not the essays, not the "welcome to Rare" — the part underneath it. I started this while still closing the gap between how big I sense this is meant to be and how small it still looks from the outside. No audience yet. No proof yet. 

I think you already know what I mean. Maybe you're building something too — a version of yourself, a body of work, a life — and you're waiting for the world to confirm it before you let yourself believe it. I'm not writing to tell you it will all work out. I'm writing to tell you I understand the waiting, because I'm in it too, and I decided to start anyway.

So this is me, mid-build, no proof yet, showing you what it looks like to trust something before it's finished.
